EDIT: Upon seeking for the band, I also found their website, where there are mp3 from this band to be downloaded for FREE. Heavy bullet-fast grind with political messages (well, at least in the name of the songs. The band is named after Lenin’s wife, mind you). Happy consuming!

Well, punkcast is a portmanteau from the word punk and podcast is basically a documentation effort of the underground NYC scene. And it’s available for downloads! A few that I like: it has Kimya Dawson of Moldy Peaches, Tiny Masters of Today, Yeah Yeah Yeahs- all live performances! I suspect this would be the breeding ground of the hip and upcoming ‘cool’ bands- Effi Briest, TV on the Radio, Art Brut, Love is All, Pedro the Lion, the oldskools- TV Smith and Attila the Stockbroker, The Exploited, The Adicts, The Business, GBH, UK Subs, The Libertines (not THAT old la) etc etc etc. It’s like a place where the old and the young meet and exchange notes. A nice place indeed.

Yes, yes, I am veeerrrryyyyy late in posting this.
But as we are going to celebrated our Independence/Hari Malaysia/whatever you wanna call it, I guess we, the young ones, owe ourselves an explanation or an alternative view on our own history. The film to be downloaded is 10 Tahun Sebelum Merdeka, directed by Fahmi Reza. Watch it with an open mind, and judge for yourself. The kids at Sabah was lucky when they had the director went there and did a workshop for them, not that long ago. Perhaps something could be done for Kuching, later later, we make some plans.
